About the Role:
The Supervisor Production position is responsible for all employees, processes, equipment, safety and housekeeping of the area(s) as well as meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all sanitation, safety and GMP standards. Lead employees to identify, manage, and execute the plant’s process improvement opportunities. Manage production staff to attain production and quality goals. Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensure production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and create an engaged and team-oriented workforce in order to improve business results. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
To produce and package a high-quality product through the use of proper procedures and adherence to good manufacturing practices and government standards in cooperation with the Quality Assurance department.
Manage production and maintenance activities across the assigned line(s) on the assigned shift to meet plant goals efficiently and effectively.
Lead and engage team members to improve systems, processes, and procedures to improve departmental efficiencies so that downtime is minimized.
Monitor re-work levels and usage in order to keep re-work levels at a minimum.
Monitor and control inventory levels and yields through the proper usage and reporting of raw materials.
Monitor and control labor costs regarding staffing and overtime through properly adhering to the direct labor standards.
Lead by example and demonstrate corporate and plant values.
Actively reinforce key TMOS concepts every day through coaching and auditing of team members.
Maintain and enforce the adherence to the employee handbook, GMPs, and other plant policies and procedures as well as all regulatory agency standards.
Coach team in personal accountability, giving and receiving feedback, root-cause analysis, problem solving, decision making, trade-off analysis, interpersonal communications, and external interactions.
Troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions through root-cause analysis.
Seek and provide resources for team and provide necessary training that will assist the team in reaching its goals.
To maintain and ensure the safety of all employees in the operation of equipment through frequent safety coaching, implementation of safe work practices, enforcement of safety rules, ensuring the following of proper procedures, and proper training.
Lead the team in tracking and understanding Key Performance Indicators, gap analysis, and create action plans to address performance gaps. Ensure proper and accurate reporting of all daily requirements.
Provide frequent informal and periodic formal job performance feedback to team. Ensure proper training of all employees on the line(s) with proper documentation of performance. Plan and initiate cross-training of employees to expand job knowledge and add flexibility to scheduling the workforce.
Facilitate and react to non-routine and crisis situations.
Respond to and utilize communication tools appropriate (e.g., cell phones, computers, radios, etc.).
Provide scheduled personnel coverage for vacations, holidays, occasional days, leaves of absence, and for other crews.
Understand, observe, and comply with the handling/usage of color-coded container policy.
Immediately notify maintenance of any repairs or adjustments required.
Possess thorough understanding of all company policies, including GMPs and safety policies.
Communicate well and work effectively with all areas of the operation including other departments, managers, and employees. Ensure constant communication with all levels of management in the areas of processing, production, maintenance, and sanitation issues.
Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on 3rd shift.
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:
A minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing supervision experience required or equivalent experience
Proven ability to supervise people in a constructive form is required
Proficient use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written
Experience in a manufacturing environment – food manufacturing a plus
The ability to work overtime and weekends
