The Amazon Robotics (AR) Operations organization oversees the manufacturing of high-quality robotics and gets the right materials to the right place at the right time to enable our automated solutions. It’s a fast-paced operation that works cross-functionally with teams across Amazon globally, and is driven by data and performance indicators
The Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations (RMTO) team is seeking a Production Planning Manager to develop and manage a comprehensive production planning process to assist high volume manufacturing and emerging products and technology. The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for all aspects of production planning for RMTO’s two production sites. This will include the development and execution of a build plan that is capacity feasible. This role will be responsible to maintain good internal communication between the operations and supply chain teams related to production scheduling, inventory, and capacity.
Key job responsibilities
Manage a small team of production planners
Responsible for direct and indirect labor gearing ratios for operational headcount planning
Performing material analysis using advance planning systems for component shortages and escalate material availability constraints
Manage and communicate the WIP priorities to support capacity constraints and on-time delivery.
Define critical planning parameters within the ERP systems
Develop and manage a holistic rough-cut capacity model to manage constraints across warehousing, packaging, testing, repair, and assembly.
Analyze demand inputs to develop & control manufacturing production schedule (MPS) and capacity requirements, executes the plan, provides timely status to schedule.
Coordinate with product engineering teams and project management teams on New Product Introduction (NPI) schedules to drive timely schedule adjustments and capacity optimizations
Coordinates with Supply Chain stakeholders, in monitoring delivery needs and works with procurement to resolve any shortage or material changes from engineering.
Ensure supply plan does not exceeded funded demand plan
Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop performance metrics, drive best practices, and lead process and tool improvements that align with the strategic priorities of the team.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
Extensive knowledge of material resource planning (MRP) systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
Experience with SQL
APICS or Six Sigma Certification with an understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes.
