Job Description
The IFF Pharma division has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Production Manager at the manufacturing facility in Plaquemine, Louisiana. This specialty, batch production facility produces METHOCEL™, a cellulosics based polymer, which serves pharmaceutical and industrial specialties markets.
Your Focus
As Production Manager, you will primarily function of the role is leading the production team at this facility.
You are an experienced leader who knows how to motivate, train and develop a team of roughly 30 employees to achieve the daily operational requirements of Safety, Quality, Performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role also sits on the Site Leadership Team and is a key driver of site culture and improvement activity.
How you will contribute and lead
Accountable for production performance.
Effective leadership of a large team within a high-volume batch manufacturing environment.
Ensure KPIs are understood, met and exceeded.
Production reporting.
Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve baseline performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Achieve operational objectives in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Leads efforts to improve plant costs related to production.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience including at one or more roles in manufacturing (run plant, improvement, reliability, etc.) is required
Bachelors degree in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) or other science related degree is required
Proven experience managing and leading a team is preferred.
Demonstrated practical experience and a thorough understanding of cGMP is preferred
A strong safety focus.
Highly developed communication and organizational skills.
Ability to perform well under competing priorities.
Proficient use of SAP or similar system and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working collaboratively with employee union to achieve common goals.
Performance management experience.
Leadership experience with Six Sigma, Continuous Improvements or Lean. Manufacturing techniques is preferred.
