Description
Obtain input and negotiates with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver an optimized subsystem-based analytical and experimental verification plan to the program or project team. Utilize System Requirements Engineering knowledge and expertise to establish acceptance criteria requirements throughout the system lifecycle and assess impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, schedule and resources. Make decisions in the areas of verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, and durability. Investigate and address complex product concerns or issues, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution and document results. Create, manage, improve and apply processes including technical requirements, Integrated Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (iDFMEA), Engineering Standard Work (ESW), DVP&R optimization, test standards, and problem solving tools including Integrity, Microsoft Power BI, and McParts required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making. Provide problem resolution leadership for complex systems utilizing knowledge of 7 Step Problem Solving Process to identify and analyze Root Causes. Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across business units. Propose innovative initiatives and apply the Systems Definition and Design process including requirements allocation and architecture, capability determination through system modeling and testing. Coordinate and guide work of technical project teams, coach and mentor engineers, project managers and cross-functional team members. Lead the Product Integration, Verification & Validation process, including activities such as component testing, integration testing, system testing, performance testing, acceptance testing, and installation testing. Generate experimental testing plans that deliver optimal analysis and test coverage using knowledge of Analytical Modeling and Test Integration. Identify and analyze the interfaces and interactions across system boundaries specifying the requirements and limits to ensure that the product meets requirements and integrate system elements by creating an integration plan using experience with Product Interface Management and Integration. Review the manufacturing process line changes from a mechanical perspective including outsourcing, machining, assembly, and production test, ensuring product quality needs are met while developing a repeatable, cost effective process utilizing advanced knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC).

Experience and Education:
Positions require a Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience as a Product, Design, Validation or Test Engineer, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as a Product, Design, Validation or Test Engineer or related position. Experience to include: Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R); System Requirements Engineering; Integrated Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (iDFMEA); 7 Step Problem Solving Process to identify and analyze Root Causes; Systems Definition and Design process; Product Integration, Verification & Validation process; Analytical Modeling and Test Integration; Product Interface Management and Integration; Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC).
