The Product Operations team maximizes the value of product launches to the business through partnership across all departments. We remove risk through project management and compliance, drive feature adoption through amplification and growth, and enrich product development with insights from our user-facing teams. We are champions of internal education, creating a culture of product expertise at TikTok and ensuring all functions are able to take full advantage of the latest innovations in our applications.
The regional Product Specialist will work daily with Product, Engineering, Content, Partnerships, Public Relations and Marketing teams to help project manage the end-to-end launch and adoption of new features and their future iterations across both creator and user experiences within the Asia/Pacific: Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Phillipines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Austraila and New Zealand region.
The primary goal of this cross functional role is to ensure effective launch readiness through local market alignment, communication, and internal training for their respective product areas. The Product Specialist will also be responsible for driving high impact growth initiatives from ideation to execution.
As a Product Specialist, you will have a love of product, an eye for details, and the ability to solve issues big and small. You will be able to analyze performance data and make recommendations, and use data to tell a story to a wide range of partner teams. Your day-to-day will include interfacing with product management and operations teams, and executing projects within cross-functional product groups--as well as gathering feedback, advocating for new initiatives, and aligning stakeholders throughout your region towards a shared vision and execution.
- Partner with Global Product Operations to represent the product roadmap and priorities to key regional stakeholders, while ensuring that cross-functional partners are aligned on key objectives for product launches
- Develop end-to-end product rollout plans for the APAC/AUNZ region and project manage execution, partnering with Marketing, PR, and Content teams to guarantee market readiness
- Own internal and external onboarding and training, organize workshops and webinars on new product features, and lead the development and dissemination of best practices to drive product growth
- Prioritize APAC/AUNZ feedback and recommendations; build clear cases for embedding requests within the product roadmap
- Design new processes, collect feedback and incorporate learnings to drive efficiency and effectiveness
- Serve as the local product expert, and be the daily point of contact for escalations and troubleshooting of issues within the APAC/AUNZ region
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in product management, operations, consulting, or product marketing
- Experience working in consumer technology, with relevant expertise launching and growing new products--with experience in social, entertainment, or creative products preferred
- Experience launching and growing products in one or more regions of focus: Asia/Pacific: Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Phillipines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Austraila and New Zealand
- Experience analyzing key product and marketing metrics for a new-to-market product or feature, including prioritizing key indicators, planning data collection, and using data to enrich decision making
- Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working globally and cross-culturally, navigating global organizational structures, and has demonstrated success in leading projects across multiple functions and markets
- Objective-oriented with the ability to understand context, identify key risks, and collaborate across disciplines on an efficient timeline
- Full professional proficiency in English and Japanese is essential for this role
