Job Purpose:
The Product Owner for Demand Planning & Scheduling will be responsible for ensuring the Tech product is developed and maintained and that associated support staff undertaking day to day support, compliance, maintenance, upgrades, delivery and decommissioning activities are doing so in line with the appropriate product strategy and GSK policied and procedures.
Their main interaction with the business is through direct contact with customer locations (e.g. manufacturing sites) in delivery technical support for the quality and labs products and systems to the sites and normally completed in collaboration with Product Manager / Product Director.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following :Ownership of product delivery capacity and capability, as well as, accountability for service management processes for product (this includes line management of Tech Developers for product)Ensure that requested work is aligned to agreed demand types and entered into a product backlog.Feed operations/support demand into the product backlog for assigned Product LineMonitor and ensure the capacity of the technical team is managed to fulfil highest priority demand activitiesPoint of contact for relevant parties associated to major disruptions and/or amendments to the allocated product lines.Act as escalation point and coordinator (as required) for resolution of major outages.Liaison with strategic suppliers, application vendors, product managers, and business to ensure support services (and licencing) are suitable and maintained.Eliminate support and maintenance costs associated with allocated assets by decommissioning, or consolidating similar products as approved by Product Director.Work with Product Directors and Product Managers to ensure products are maintained and current. Ensure component currency and upgrade projects are visible on the product backlog and are prioritized accordingly.Work with Product Directors and Product Managers to ensure technical capacity scales appropriately for the delivery of product enhancements and other changesWork closely with strategic suppliers and product managers to secure appropriate funding to supplement technical resources as needed, in the support of product delivery changes.Serve as GSK point of contact for service operations performance, and ensure strategic partners are delivering on KPIs around services they manageResponsible for ensuring that the GSK Service Management Standard Processes are applied and adhered to including embedding and adopting standard ways of working in accordance with Tech Quality Risk and Compliance policies.Establish and manage total cost of ownership (TCO) of production assets within their defined Product line - Accountable for driving strategic partners for identification and execution of improvements that will lead to lower TCO for GSK.Maintain awareness of Product backlog and future direction of allocated Product lines and continually assess impact on operations demand, resources, and requirements.Working closely with Product Director and Product Directors/Managers to determine, document and agree support models and service level requirements for new products/applications.Provides leadership, support, direction and GSK process knowledge/expertise to Technical Operations teams composed of GSK, strategic partners and software vendorsEnable technical product teams to work following Agile practices.
