Who we're looking for:
The Data Product Owner will ensure work for two technical data factories is carefully prioritized based on value-add and business need. This role will establish feature and epic level requirements that align to the strategic direction and value add priorities established by the business domain owner. The Data Product Owner will also work closely with data factory technical leads to ensure requirements are translated into actionable chunks that deliver value.
Day to day activities will include:
Working knowledge of the data supply chain, data management and data engineering best practicesExperience facilitating the prioritization of data product deliverables across multiple stakeholdersExperience leading complex data migration or ingestion projects in financial servicesAbility to negotiate prioritization discussions and ensure resources are aligned to the highest value workPro-active problem solving skills to help unblock technical teams and facilitate deliveryRelationship building and collaboration skillsStrong communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate risks, impediments and action plans to address risks and impediments.
Key responsibilities include:
Own end to end delivery of data products (data environments, self-service platforms, reporting, analytics or a combination)Maximize the value delivered by technical data teams by ensuing high quality of work and carefully managing burn rate and budget to mitigate cost - runsUnderstand and document all stakeholders needs to ensure technical teams are aligned to the highest priority deliverablesCreate clear view of priorities based on business need and expected impact. Draft epics and features with clear outcomes that deliver against prioritiesUnderstand the 'need behind the need' with data engineering, reporting and analytical requests. Identify solutions that are scalable, compliant and align to target stateLead technical team ceremonies (Sprint planning, review, retrospective, etc) to drive outcomes that align to epic/feature objectivesManage work at a sprint level to ensure technical deliverables deliver value against feature and epic level requirements
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.). Master's degree is a plus.Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the technology sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of technology trends, strategies, and operations.Change management and organizational transformation experience.Proficiency in strategic planning and execution.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.High level of discretion and confidentiality.Leading data deliverables with the Banking and Commercial Lending domain.SAFE Agile or other Agile certification.
