Job Description The Product team are responsible for creating and building a world class cross-border payments solution, supporting a portfolio of products and adding sustainable value to the business.
As a Product Owner you will be the subject matter expert who works closely with the Product Manager and Agile Team. You will deliver the functionality and associated user experience of the system, from definition to implementation, through to optimisation. You will take the high level priorities from Product Manager and determine the detail of what needs to be delivered together with the prioritisation which will demonstrate maximum business value as early as possible. You will ensure that prioritisation is carried through to delivery, working with the agile teams to identify dependencies and blockers to ensure that decisions are made which represent the product vision and stakeholders interest. As the representative of the Product Stakeholder you will translate the business objectives into clearly articulated user stories, ensuring that the business objective is understood by all teams at every stage of the development.
What we expect of you, day to day.
This role will report to the Product Manager and be responsible for turning the product vision, strategy and design into reality. This role requires an experienced Product Owner with deep payments experience and a proven ability to deliver:
Building, Prioritising and Maintaining Team Backlogs
Translate business objectives into user stories to create the team backlog through collaboration with stakeholders
Ensure the backlog is prioritised in line with the business objectives
Story elaboration
Elicit, analyse, communicate and validate user stories for changes to business processes, policies, information and systems to achieve technology/business solution
Assists with the decomposition of epics into features and features into user stories
Ensure stories are clearly captured and understood by the agile team
Overseeing Development Stage
Contributes to the planning and review of each iteration
Assisting the team and collaborating on sizing and planning activities
Works with team to refine and improve the development process
Attends and participates in agile ceremonies
Evaluates story progress
Accepts the stories as done
Confirms the acceptance criteria has been met
Has sufficient acceptance tests
Meets the teams DoD
Liaison between Product Manager and Agile Team
Work with Product Manager to understand the business objectives and priorities
Participate in program backlog refinement
Owns and reports on progress of the overall backlog
SME in business functional area
Understand the business area and processes
Support testing, training and implementation activities
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
