Job Summary:
Idera’s Data Tools division is looking for an energetic and creative person to increase awareness and generate interest in its Data Automation platform - WhereScape.
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies for WhereScape. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product positioning and messaging. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving demand and revenue growth for our products. You will work with product, sales, and marketing team members to inform marketing efforts, educate and improve sales motions and communicate with our partners.
The ability to “think outside the box” is essential to telling the story of how WhereScape can deliver tremendous value to any organization needing to enhance their data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, and incorporate insights into product positioning and messaging.
Be the expert on our buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria. This includes where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make.
Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned. Maintain detailed battlecards and ensure sales knows how to effectively position WhereScape.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create effective sales collateral, such as product demos, case studies, white papers, and presentations.
Develop and deliver product training to internal teams, such as sales, customer success, and support, to ensure they have a deep understanding of the products and can effectively communicate their value to customers.
Manage the planning and execution of marketing efforts for product version releases.
Work closely with the product development team to understand our products and key features and benefits, as well as identify target markets and customer segments.
Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop content and messaging that resonates with our audience.
Contribute content as needed for demand and lead generation activities.
Manage key relationships such as Gartner and technical partners and keep them up-to-date on WhereScape’s value proposition and product functionality.
Qualifications
A bachelors degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., business, marketing, computer science, engineering) or equivalent experience. (Master’s degree or MBA a plus)
5-7 years or more of experience in product management or related roles, such as project management or business analysis.
Strong team player with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with data automation is a plus, but candidates with diverse industry backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The applicant should possess a solid understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitors.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The applicant needs to convey ideas clearly to various stakeholders, including development teams, executives, and customers.
Ability to identify content that is needed to be developed. Collateral creation skills are beneficial, and familiarity with design programs like InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva is welcomed but not required.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use tools like Google Analytics and Salesforce, are a plus. We encourage candidates with expertise in various analytical platforms to apply.
Technical Aptitude: While not mandatory, having a basic understanding of technical concepts is beneficial in software development. Candidates from diverse technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Strategic Thinking: Individuals in this role must be able to think strategically and contribute to the overall business strategy. This involves setting long-term goals and aligning product development with company objectives.
Cross-functional Collaboration: This role requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with various departments, including marketing, sales, and product. Leadership and teamwork skills are crucial.
Experience with diverse teams and cultures is highly valued.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of addressing challenges in diverse and dynamic situations.
Customer-centric Approach: A strong understanding of customer needs and a customer-centric approach is essential. The applicant should be able to advocate for the customer throughout the product development lifecycle.]
Adaptability: The ability to adapt to change is crucial in the dynamic field of product management. Product Managers should be flexible and able to pivot strategies based on evolving market conditions or business requirements.
The individual in this role must be able to execute quickly as the environment is fast-paced.
