Job Description The Product Manager MDM will have intimate knowledge of the organization’s key business processes and how those processes create, update and delete master data. The person filling this role will have enough knowledge of the IT landscape to communicate well with all technical roles. Ideally, that person will have a high degree of credibility in the organization and will be effective in communicating with and influencing the people around them.
This role will own and maintain all master data models pertaining to their particular data domain. They will be responsible for analyzing the technologies and best practices for implementing and evolving metadata and master data management. They focus on the uniformity, accuracy, stewardship, governance, semantic consistency and accountability of master data assets.
Responsibilities:
Understanding of how master data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomesAwareness of the security, privacy, ethics and quality requirements for critical data entitiesSolid project management skills to guide point-in-time and ongoing targeted data quality, retention, security, privacy and ethics improvement projectsDeep and comprehensive understanding of the importance and impact of data (or bad data) on the ability of the business to meet its own objectivesVisibility with and respect from all levels of the organization — lead domain data stewards must have credibility and a track record of success in the businessFacilitation and conflict resolution skills to assist in resolving the different points of view and requirements that invariably collide during cross-team and cross-organization effortsAbility to communicate with people at all levels, from clerical positions to the senior management teamAbility to influence peers and subordinates to modify behaviors and provide support for the adoption of data governance policies Qualifications Skill/Job Requirements:
