We are looking for a Product Manager, Data Pipeline to join the AppFolio Platform team, the foundational layer that powers data driven products across AppFolio. Your team will own the analytics data pipeline, enabling internal and external customers to derive better insights on their data. You will lead the product charter ensuring customers can “Get the data you need, when you need it, where you need it.” You will help customers connect APM data as part of their holistic data landscape regardless of technical sophistication, through greater data access, from comprehensive APIs to easy to use exporting and integrations.
Your impact:
- Define the data pipeline roadmap and work with the team to deliver against it
- Partner with our data science teams on defining and delivering an analytics specific data model
- Work in tandem with technical leadership to establish best practices around data governance
- Be a key partner to product/development teams across AppFolio as they seek to build data products
- Be a team leader, driving the culture, working agreements and outputs of your team
- Deliver great cross functional communication on a high visibility and high impact project
Qualifications:
- Able to explain technical concepts to less technical stakeholders. A bridge between engineering and business.
- Ruthless in prioritization and creation of focus/clarity for the team on long term initiatives
- Highly organized and a great communicator, especially in written formats
Must haves:
- Experience building data or analytics products that were end user facing
- Desire to tackle big problems and an ability to help the team break them into smaller parts
- You have a track record of shipping great experiences that lead to discovery and high adoption in a role similar to this one
- You have experience understanding needs of internal teams and can create leverage across teams through building reusable capabilities
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of real estate, property management or property-tech businesses
- Experience or familiarity in working with Apache Pinot, Starburst Galaxy and similar analytics technologies or platforms
- Experience building API-centric products
- An engineering background
- Experience building large language models (LLMs)
- Experience in build vs buy analysis as well as the procurement process for new software platforms

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $110,000 - $165,000.
The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
