The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in communication, engagement, collaboration, leadership and is a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and direction. This role will be responsible for the strategic plans for future software and hardware products. Further, this role will be responsible for coaching the product owners, working with leaders in the development team to ensure successful delivery of products.
The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation skills, ability to connect with people and create insights from those interactions, motivation and analytical skills, experience with the software tools required for the position and business acumen in front of team members, customers and executive leaders.
The Challenge:
Lead the product planning processes through analyzing customer needs, current market trends, potential partnerships, and business needs from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspectiveAssess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiationAppraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plansDevelop and maintain production timelines based on reporting across multiple departments on status and address challengesManage product development priority by making tradeoffs between competing software and hardware requirements, such as time vs. cost and security vs. speedCommunicate the product vision based on strategic goals and communicate to managementOversee communication with stakeholders and ensure appropriate departments are includedOversee the analysis of product requirements and ensure they are properly documentedOversee and assist with translating business goals into specific requirementsDirect and help manage prioritization of features based on market need and company strategiesEnsure the products are successfully meeting business goals and users' needsLead, evaluate and coach team membersPrepare reports for program directors and key stakeholders as requiredDevelop and control deadlines, budgets and activities for the departmentEnsure all assigned programs/projects are executed in accordance with Leidos and Varec Policies and ProceduresWill have at least one direct report, but could expand
What Sets You Apart: (Basic Requirements)
Bachelor's Degree with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.Proficient in Microsoft Office productsStrong verbal, written and visual communication skillsDemonstrated track record of working across multiple teams and ability to influence decisions without direct authorityAbility to travel (25%)
Preferred Qualifications
Good understanding of Agile development methodologies, specifically Scrum and KanbanGood knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniquesCertified Product Owner, Scrum Master, Program Management Professional (PMP)Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program executionStrong leadership, coaching and management skillsGood knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation proceduresThe ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
