Eaton's eMobility business is seeking a Product Line Controller / strategic financial business partner to support the Power Distribution & Protection product line. The preferred location for this position is Southfield, MI, but Beachwood, OH would also be considered. Relocation assistance is available to Southfield.
What you'll do:
This position is responsible for leading global finance activities for eMobility's Power Distribution & Protection (PD&P) product line. PD&P will undergo dramatic growth over the next 5 years driven by the launch of several new and innovative product offerings, and this role is instrumental in ensuring the product line delivers on its aggressive growth and profitability targets. This role will partner with the Product Line GM to drive smart business decisions on new business quotes, capital spend requests, and R&D budgeting decisions, ensure strong financial performance of the product line, and develop a finance staff. This position is actively involved in all aspects of the operation by participating in the sales, marketing, engineering, talent, and operations planning cycle and providing financial analysis and support for all teams. The ideal candidate has high leadership potential, is comfortable with ambiguity, is process improvement focused, can effectively manage multiple projects/priorities, and demonstrates the drive and people capability to deliver results within a global, growing business.
Job responsibilities:
• Manage the profit plan and forecasting process for the global product line
• Drive financial performance for the product line, focusing on profitable growth
• Manage and coordinate the month end close process for the product line
• Play a key role in evaluating commercial pursuits / new business quotes, capital expenditure requests, and R&D spend requests
• Provide objective reviews to Senior Management on budgets, forecasts, profit plans, and other updates by understanding overall business goals and objectives
• Ensure timely delivery of all FP&A schedules (performance reports, forecasts, quarterly analysis, price/mix analysis, etc)
• Drive the financial sales and operations process cycle
• Collaborate with product management, sales, marketing, engineering, and operations teams to provide financial leadership
• Proactively work with other functional areas to improve business performance, implement change, and identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Lead and ensure a strong culture of financial controls and compliance
• Develop the finance team across the global product line
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in accounting / financial planning and analysis
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of standard financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and working knowledge and application of accounting principles and practices
Preferred:
• MBA, CPA, and/or CMA preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of automotive industry experience
• Strong technical expertise in accounting and finance, specifically in a product development and launch environment
Position Criteria:
• Experience working in SAP
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience working within an integrated Product Development team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities against multiple deadlines
• Experience in program/project accounting with success in leading teams and managing multiple projects.
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to establish effective cross-functional relationships.
• Proven leadership and possession of problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems to include word processing, spreadsheet software and integrated ERP / accounting systems.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $131249.97 - $192499.96 a year.
