We have an opportunity for an entrepreneurial, proactive, Staff Product Designer to help uncover and validate customer needs and business viability to shape Mailchimp's CRM product.
You're a maker and not afraid to take on complex challenges that lead to paradigm shifting ideas. You thrive in ambiguity and are a great creative systems thinker. You're comfortable flexing your skills in a number of ways, working autonomously and/or leading teams through the design process.
Our ideal candidate is a product designer/strategist who is endlessly curious and not shy about challenging established views. Part researcher, part coach, passionate maker and strong storyteller, in this role you might be sketching wireframes for a new digital service one day, talking to customers in another country about how they're using crypto the next and later writing a mock press release describing a future state.
What you'll bring
10 years of experience in designing digital products and services, plus 3+ years of design strategy, research, or design leadership experience.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors, Design Strategy, or equivalent relevant experience.Proven ability to lead explorations and innovate to provide novel and effective solutions to difficult problems.Ability to get deep customer empathy through observation, interview and research.Strong understanding of design needs and user centered design approach.Knowledge and experience in delivering product design deliverables such as design prototypes, documentation, design specs, assets (web and mobile), or similar.Willingness to dig-in and understand the data and to leverage creative thinking and problem-solving skills.Influential team player with a customer-back mindset.You demonstrate an entrepreneurial perspective in ideation and implementation.Strong business acumen and experience in managing multiple stakeholders and senior leadership expectations.Strong communication (written, verbal, and visual), influence, and persuasion skillsNon-traditional education or experience is welcomed.
