Product Design Engineering Manager

　　We are looking for a talented Product Design Engineering Manager to join our Accelera by Cummins business unit located in Mississauga, ON.

　　In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Responsible for, and oversees overall mechanical system design for fuel cell platforms (fuel cell power module, rail, mobility, stationary), including component selection, and mechanical integration Must have strong leadership experience overseeing / supervising groups of cross-functional mechanical design engineers in meeting overall product expectations and requirements Responsible for selection and validation of key mechanical sub-components Hydrogen, air, and thermal balance of plant development including: process design of fluid and gas flow and control subsystems, electromechanical component selection and validation, component layout, development of operational and control philosophy, and design compliance to applicable standards Responsible for ensuring the selection and integration of components meets with key product requirements of functionality, reliability, cost, safety/certifications, maintainability, and packaging/layout Qualifications

　　To be successful in this role you will need the following: Must be able to take higher level product requirements in terms of thermal performance, mass, acoustic noise, fatigue, and principles of dynamics and vibration and lead mechanical engineering team to a successful end product design Experience in simulation (FEA, CFD, modal analysis, system response modeling) highly desirable Participates in, and resolves challenges in overall system validation - mechanical, process, and thermal Must have strong communication skills - presents mechanical designs and solutions to key stakeholders including technical management, senior management, and customer interfaces Education, Licenses, Certifications

　　Bachelors in Mechanical or Systems Engineering, Master's preferred

　　This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

　　Experience Required: Minimum 10 years experience in a design-focused role, with managerial progression Knowledge of MS Office and CREO tools is preferred Experience overseeing overall mechanical system design for fuel cell platforms (fuel cell power module, rail, mobility, stationary), including component selection, and mechanical integration Must have strong leadership experience overseeing / supervising groups of cross-functional mechanical design engineers in meeting overall product expectations and requirements Hydrogen, air, and thermal balance of plant development including: process design of fluid and gas flow and control subsystems, electromechanical component selection and validation, component layout, development of operational and control philosophy, and design compliance to applicable standards Strong knowledge in application of the following principles as the pertain to design: principles of fatigue and durability (FEA, modal analysis); principles of noise and acoustics; principles of dynamics and vibration; principles of heat rejection and thermodynamics; principles of fluid dynamics (CFD) Must have experience developing products/systems with complex packaging/integration requirements; previous CAD - 3D/2D design experience is preferred Experience with 3D design tools - Creo, Solid edge, and Windchill (PLM) software; experience with CFD, FEA, or similar mechanical design tools.
