　　Provide leadership support and direction, during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. Partner with the store leader and department leader to develop a high-performance culture where associates are aligned to the business strategy and receive the knowledge and training needed to deliver a consistently great experience for Every Customer, Every Time. 　　Essential Job FunctionsPromote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude; communicate company, department, and job specific information to associatesEstablish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamworkEnsure orders are put up in a timely manner, working backstock, rotating product and replenishing throughout the dayTrain and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal processCreate an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store; respond to questions, make suggestions, and locate productsInform customers of produce specials and offer product samples to help customers discover new itemsEnsure merchandising standards are being followed; review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate actionCreate and execute sales promotions in partnership with store managementInform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions, especially promotions that affect the departmentEnsure in-stock behaviors are being executed dailyImplement the period promotional plan for the departmentEnsure hourly conditioning is taking place so products are kept fresh and displays are cleanMake certain that backroom and prep areas are clean and 5s practices are being executedEnsure a good close is being executed in order to achieve morning readinessPlan and organize the inventory process, maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, note any discrepancies, train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO)Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintainedReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, practicing preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment, notifying store management of any items in need of repair and of customer or employee accidentsReport all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraudAdhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelineMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
