As a Procurement Specialist you will focus on tactical execution of procurement strategies set forth by Siemens Energy – Vanes & Blades Tampa and also act as strategic buyer to develop and implement sourcing strategies and execute negotiations for the assigned material field, which will allow you to develop the skills to become an expert of tactical execution, expediting, strategic negotiation, and supply chain performance management.
As a critical member of the team performing day-to-day operations of the procurement function, you will work in a highly motivated team with a can-do attitude, helping and supporting each other. You will solve short term / daily issues, creating huge value for our factories and customers.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Be the main interface within procurement and to your suppliers for your assigned procurement scope.
Develop and implement supply strategies which are aligned with Blades and Vanes requirements.
Commercially evaluate proposals and conduct negotiations; interface with technical colleagues to support discussions/clarifications.
Contribute to the cost reduction targets related to the direct supply of materials, products, and services.
Work closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Engineering, Project Management, etc.) to support all procurement aspects for successful execution.
Analyzes material availability, manages purchase orders including tracking and checking of content to ensure cost-efficient / on time supply of materials according to demand.
Understands the MRP/ERP functions and rules to continuously drive for system improvements (usage, accuracy, compliance, etc.) and develop integration with the manufacturing processes.
Defining opportunities to improve the flow of material and value through the supply chain.
Improves overall purchasing efficiency.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement and material planning (strong MRP background).
Role requires strong negotiation skills.
Ability to work in a matrix multi-dimensional and international business environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals with differing knowledge levels.
Team oriented, customer focused, time management skills.
Knowledge of Purchasing and Supply Chain department operations.
Proficient in SAP and other related tool used to manage daily position responsibilities.
Analytical ability and complex problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel 5% of the time domestically.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or direction.
