Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for a Procurement Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This leadership role is in Roy, Utah and is not considered for teleworking
This exciting role supports the Strategic Deterrent Systems division , performing on Northrop Grumman's existing programs and platforms while also exploring exciting and new opportunities to shape the Company's portfolio of the future. The position reports to the Director, Global Supply Chain (GSC) for the Strategic Deterrent Systems division with sites in Roy, Utah, Huntsville, AL and Colorado Spring, CO.
The selected candidate will lead a team of approximately 4 Procurement Managers, 1 PO Delivery Manager, 1 Strategic Sourcing Manager and 40-50 Procurement Specialists responsible for supporting program(s) or a function within the larger Strategic Deterrent Systems business unit, providing guidance to their team based on goals, objectives and company policy. The position also requires technical leadership competencies to form strategies to construct various contracting types for major procurement activities to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business. Such activities may include long-term purchasing agreements, sourcing partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies and to support compliance strategies and initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, including a command of oral and written skills, solid negotiation skills, knowledge of terms and conditions, familiarity with the commercial item determination process, an aptitude for DoD contracting, and its related requirements and the ability to lead a diverse team with varying requirements and priorities in support of the business.
Essential functions include:
Sourcing and purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
Compiling and analyzing statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
Compiling information to stay informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
Conferring with suppliers to analyze supplier operations, and to determine factors that affect price, the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and the ability to meet required schedules.
Reviewing proposals, negotiates prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, ensure on time invoice payment, as well as maintaining necessary records.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Review of active procurement requirements and status
Developing, training, and mentoring buying professionals
Development of negotiation strategies and plans
Review and approval of purchase order compliance
Communication within GSC, division, program and business areas of procurement status and issues
Appropriately assessing risk to supply chain and ability to brief programs.
Identification and communication of items needed from other functional areas in support of issuance of a purchase order.
Review and approval of supplier agreements (i.e., Teaming Agreements, Long Term Pricing Agreements, Terms and Conditions Negotiations)
Assisting with the movement to more robust requisitioning process for seamless requisition to PO placement process
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
10+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, subcontracts management, business/program management.
7+ years formal lead/management experience
Advanced knowledge of supply chain management techniques, practices or theories gained through wide seasoning and/or special development. Typically, a broad functional knowledge.
Ability to travel 10%, sometimes at short notice is required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree with 10+ years of experience in global supply chain, procurement, subcontracts management, business/program management, or other related experience
Solid understanding of SAP, Northrop Grumman Command Media, and metric analysis
Manages performance of the portfolio, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
Salary Range: $149,700 - $224,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
