Summary
CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity at our Oil Refinery facility in Laurel, MT. We are looking for Experienced Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to guide and improve process safety activities within the Laurel Refinery. You must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.
Responsibilities
Facilitate HAZOPS for new projects and recertifications
Manage Flare System modeling and PSV design basis
Conduct RMP alternative technology considerations with stakeholders
Manage Risk Reduction Factor assessment for Safety Instrumented Functions per IEC 61511
Facilitate Risk Reviews for bypassing safety functions or equipment
Facilitate Operations/PSM KPI monthly meeting
Facilitate MOC reviews for Refinery Process Safety Committee (RPSC)
Participate in PID and Risk reviews
Assists in MOC workflow
Review RAGEGEP and identify opportunities to improve practices, operation, or design of the Laurel Refinery
Proficiency reading, auditing, and modifying PID drawings
Generate and implement technical recommendations to improve refinery PSM performance along with safety, environmental, reliability, and economic objectives
Foster an environment of open communication, problem resolution, and stewardship
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry codes and industry standards
Demonstrate a working knowledge of other engineering disciplines and how to interface effectively across functional groups within the refinery
Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Support refinery turnaround and major maintenance events
Able to support the refinery safety department call duty
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in process engineering or related field.
Additional Qualifications
Technical understanding and experience with refinery processes (thermodynamics, unit operations, hazard and risk assessment)
Working knowledge of applicable Engineering Standards, Specifications, National Codes, and Industry Best Practices applicable to the Refining Industry.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Certification in HAZOP methodology
Working knowledge of electrical systems
Working knowledge of control systems
Knowledge of process simulation software
Knowledge of data analysis techniques, root cause analysis tools and applications
