Job Overview:
General Description includes basic process design and analysis on assigned deliverables in a McDermott project including deliverables such as conceptual process design, process simulations, heat and material balances, P&ID and PFD development. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations and equipment and material specification. Reports functionally to the Process Engineering Lead on a project and administratively to the Process Engineering Manager. Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott’s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Perform FEED, Studies, and detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on engineering tasks.
Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments.
Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines.
Focus on completing work within budgets.
Clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities.
Essential Qualifications & Education:
Accredited Engineering Degree may be required by specific region. Prefer BSChE degree.
Specific work experience, typically 3 - 6 years of work experience in the process engineering field.
Is familiar with the process engineering design process and unit operations.
Is current on latest scientific and engineering methods.
Desired/ Preferred Qualifications:
Registered Engineer in Training (EIT)
Master Degree in Chemical Engineer
