Description
Our team is looking for a Process Engineer to have the opportunity to work in a team environment to continuously improve production equipment and processes utilizing the latest automation technology such as servo driven dispense systems, cutting and joining Lasers, Pulse Phase Thermography testing, Fanuc Robotics and Various Vision systems. You will help troubleshoot equipment issues and manage small to medium sized projects on a wide variety of equipment that progresses the organization to the next level of manufacturing effectiveness.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Provide daily support of production operations with focus on personnel and equipment safety, process quality and uptime with a focus on automation, process control and drive continuous improvement initiatives Provide technical/engineering support to assist production and maintenance with troubleshooting equipment/process failures and with identifying effective follow-up counter-measures Identify and execute kaizen projects to support achievement of departmental business objectives and continuous improvement of safety, quality, cost and reliability Review equipment operation and reliability (develop tracking methods where applicable)
Identify and execute special projects for process and quality improvements, equipment refurbishment, line rate increases and future programs. Create project SOR's, drawings, communications, manage, execute, and buyoff Ensure new and existing equipment meets operational requirements and appropriate standards Ensure proper documentation (drawings, manuals, PM schedules etc.) is available and properly maintained for all equipment in assigned area, ensure spare parts availability and develop maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs) Maintain current knowledge in fields of expertise. Update management on current status and emerging trends of areas of expertise as relating to equipment standards, legislative requirements, GM Requirements, etc. Identify technical training and knowledge transfer opportunities with other Process Engineers, Interns, and Maintenance Associates Attend regular departmental meetings to provide technical insight and to communicate / coordinate planning of activities in assigned area. Communicate weekly with other RESS site process engineers to ensure that CI activities, improvements and major breakdown resolution in your area of expertise are shared site to site Follow the General Motors Workplace Safety System while implementing projects.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, College Diploma or its equivalent in a related technical field, preferably with a minimum of 2 years of experience in process engineering Experience working with and troubleshooting pneumatics, hydraulics, fastening/joining systems and conveyance Proficient technical aptitude in quality systems, regulations, design and maintenance, particularly fastening and joining systems Demonstrated technical project management experience General knowledge of manufacturing processes, application and operations, preferably in automotive industry.
Ability to effectively manage multiple issues in a fast-paced work environment Ability to work on rotating shifts as required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues Proficient interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, Maximo, SAP Ariba
