Position Overview:
The Global Private Debt Product Strategy team is responsible for representing our range of credit investment strategies to clients and internal partners. BlackRock Global Private Debt is seeking to hire a product strategist to support Private Credit, a strategic growth initiative for the firm. This senior product strategist will be responsible for driving business growth related to our alternative credit products and, in particular, our Global Opportunistic platform. S/he will also be expected to be a commercial partner to key stakeholders and facilitate connectivity between clients / prospects, investment teams and distribution teams. The product strategist will have a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, work across multiple initiatives and develop a strong fluency on private credit and Opportunistic Credit to partner with PMs and interact with clients.
Responsibilities:
Partner with credit investment team (portfolio managers) and sales team to analyze the institutional and retail product platform and define opportunities for product development, both in adjacent product lines / geographies, new ventures and custom solutionsDevelop internal evaluations of new investment strategies, and subsequent fund launches in close partnership with a variety of internal and external teams, including defining the market opportunity, development of term sheets, Fund structures, marketing collateral, understanding competitive landscapeManage the fundraising campaigns globally by developing roadmaps, chairing sales pipeline discussions, collaborating with internal teams to create collateral and thought leadership pieces. Engage with clients to develop bespoke solutions in Global Opportunistic CreditPosition and prioritize product suite. Serve as a point of contact and client facing strategist to address questions from the internal sales force, existing clients, and prospects.Coordinate with internal business teams (legal, business management, fund admin, operations, risk and portfolio analytics group) on new product development, custom solutions and other offeringsCoordinate with distribution partners on the engagement of existing clients for re-ups and cross marketing opportunities
Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from top undergraduate institution, with strong quantitative and qualitative skills; CFA/CAIA/MBA a plusMinimum 5 years professional work experience in the financial services sector with Credit and Alternatives industry specific knowledge a plusExperience in product development with a focus on commingled and single-investor private fund structures, including legal and tax considerations as well as investor and operational support modelsInvestment and markets background, ideally with experience in credit, closed-end private equity-style productsAbility to develop strong and trusting relationships with both internal and external clients swiftly and effectivelyAbility to clearly communicate objectives across a range of stakeholders, including senior management and to articulate the rationale behind those goalsResults driven individual with a high level of attention to detailAbility to manage multiple complex projects at the same time in a time pressured environmentStrong cross-functional team building and management skills (for example, partnering with multiple distribution channels, marketing, product administration, legal and compliance)Leadership - ability to influence, inspire people, while also working in a collaborative team cultureStrong written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate sophisticated concepts and ideasStrong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are essential
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $156,750 - $205,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
