We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator based out of San Diego, CA. As a Principal/Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. This position requires full-time on-site work.
What You'll get to Do:
Roles & Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
Configures and maintains a secure computing environment
Scans, patches, and hardens the computing environment to meet customer requirements
Collects, audits, and stores necessary log data for the system
Develops artifacts necessary to support assessment and authorization of the system
Makes recommendations to improve the security and usability of the system
Occasional travel may be required
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Level or a Sr. Principal Level.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for Principal Linux Systems Administrator:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University/College and 6 years of related experience, or a Master's with 4 years of related experience; an additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
Experience with configuring, administering, and maintaining Red Hat or other linux systems
Active certification at DOD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g. Security+) or greater
Clearance: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) level clearance as a condition of continued employment
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University/College and 10 years of related experience, or a Master's with 8 years of related experience; an additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
Experience with configuring, administering, and maintaining Red Hat or other linux systems
Active certification at DOD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g. Security+) or greater
Clearance: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) level clearance as a condition of continued employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
Experience with obtaining and maintaining authority to operate (ATO)
Experience with patching systems, scanning for vulnerabilities (Security Center/Nessus, SCAP), hardening systems (DISA STIGs), auditing log files, and updating virus definitions
Experience as an administrator for Red Hat or similar Linux systems within a DoD context
Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $120,900 - $181,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
