The Emerging Country Network Planning team is looking for a talented Principal Supply Chain individual contributor who will create solutions to optimize multi-year network topology design, along with Supply Chain planning processes for new country expansion. Our scope includes emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Middle East (AE, KSA, EG), and Singapore.
As a team player, you have an opportunity to work with some of the best Supply Chain professionals, Tech teams, worldwide Design Engineers, Operations Managers, Finance Partners, Analytics teams, and Business Leaders across the network to design the optimal end to end network topology with an objective to solve the storage and processing capacity, delivery experience (DEX), and achieve the best customer experience in the most cost efficient way.
This role requires working with cross-functional business teams across the company to jointly define requirements, develop Fulfillment Center and transportation network topology and capacity solutions, and manage the timelines for all current and future field operations teams to support project launches. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks/opportunities, and daily change control management. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive interaction skills are essential.
This position requires significant expertise and high judgment to distill diverse inputs from large customer segments and stakeholders to set a vision and design the right long-term solution. Ability to understand complex data, diving deep through various information sources, and working closely with worldwide engineers, technology partners and local/regional operations teams to rapidly iterate and deliver solutions. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving to handle significantly complex problems/efforts, decisions, and escalations.
Key job responsibilities
Lead mid to long-term FC network planning and process standardization for new and emerging countries.
Define the best topology for emerging countries by leveraging optimization tool sets to find answers for critical strategic questions such as how many facilities to build, what kinds they should be, where to put them, how to expect them to operate in terms of inbound/outbound, and how to connect them in our transportation system.
Actively work to remove bottlenecks. Create scalable mechanisms and best practices. Use network planning knowledge to influence future tools and features enhancement.
Communicate and drive long term initiatives. Proactively identify gaps and opportunities. Manage FC topology 3YF/OP1/OP2 goals.
Lead projects for cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new features and tools service that meet cost optimization and delivery experience maximization goals.
Proactively identify gaps and opportunities in the process/solution by performing continuous benchmarking with developed countries network.
Drive clear, precise, and regular communication with stakeholders to include ongoing project/program status via monthly and quarterly planning reviews.
Travel internationally 25-30%

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of supply chain experience
7+ years of program or project management experience
7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
7+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Experience defining and executing program requirements
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with a supply chain software/tool such as, but no limited to, Llamasoft, SAP APO, Manugistics
Preferred Qualifications
Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
Experience delivering cross functional projects
Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery
Experience with SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
