Job Duties:
Design robust Data Models and, system flows for additional business efficiency and accuracy
Evaluate business requirements and impact analysis to existing system that impact the Caterpillar enterprise, dealer partners
Accountable to design robust, scalable database and data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) solutions
Develop data object pipeline specifications including detailed field level mapping, business rules, data quality rules, etc.
Act as team lead by providing technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to junior team members, worldwide
Ensure compliance with the latest data standards supported by the company, and brand, legal, information security (data security and privacy compliance)
Skill Descriptors:
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements
Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
Software Product Technical Knowledge : Knowledge of technical aspects of a software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
Basic qualifications:
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience with Snowflake is required.
Six years or more of experience in data management (data design, data quality, data processing)
Six years or more of experience in designing and developing software applications in Java or Python or at least four years of experience in Java or Python with master’s degree in computer science or related field
Top candidates will also have proven experience in
Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale
Updating production enterprise critical software
Databases such as Snowflake, RDS
Big Data Cloud technologies such as AWS EMR
Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Azure Devops etc.
Experience creating conceptual and logical database models
Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs
Hands on experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman
Test driven development and behavior driven development, including hands on experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber and their integration into CI/CD pipelines
Must demonstrate solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.
Passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated leadership on medium to large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities.
