What's the role?

　　Your role as a Principal Engineer will involve working:

　　Technical leadership, build Proof-of-Concepts quickly to demonstrate and justify use of certain technologies and Architectural design approaches. Be a software craftsman: develop software that is well-crafted & steadily adds business value, as part of a community of professionals Drive initiatives that contribute to development of software that is efficient, re-usable and reliable Be part of an agile team, share knowledge, do code reviews, pro-active communication Be aware of the latest technologies and advocate for its use.Boost the effectiveness of our team by helping us in optimizing our development processes.

　　Who are you?

　　Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems.

　　11+ years application development experience, with good understanding of agile values and principles. Strong quality mindset is considered a must: System designing, Building, Scalability, Performance, unit testing. Advanced object-oriented design skills, exposure to modern design and architecture patterns. Strong fundamentals of Java/Scala. Strong problem solving and logic capebilities - Data structures, Algorithms, Multithreading, Design Patterns. Strong understanding of Microservices concepts, Cloud, Webservices, REST, HTTP and JSON. Bigdata processing and architecture knowledge incl. Kafka, Flink, SparkInfrastructure experience: Maven, GIT, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, Docker Linux Environment. Very good communication skills in English both written and spoke.Nice to have:PythonAI/ML GIS

　　HERE is searching for a Principal Engineer for our Foundation Engineering team. Foundation Engineering enables the creation of mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time.

　　The Principal Engineer will cultivate a team to deliver digital maps to major automakers, for e.g. BMWs, VWs, Audi, Daimler.  You will work on a technology to collect and process road information from many sources, terabytes of data, including car sensors from millions of cars on the road. Our services convert this input into a digital map which is delivered back to the cars and used for navigation, driver assistance and even autonomous driving.
