  Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Senior Principal Technical Services Project Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

   This role will be supporting the development of virtual reality training solutions, Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) and Virtual Reality (VR) Development. These solutions entail creating and conducting training programs using virtual or computer-based simulations to train maintenance personnel.

  The project manager will provide organizational and technical leadership and direction across the Digital Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) thrust across multiple sites. This position will also involve managing project development thru production transition, providing mentorship to team members, and managing project goals, objectives, schedules, and cost while adhering to company policy.

  As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team, you will define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. Manufacturing concept and process solutions for production applications cover advanced technologies including but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, direct part manufacturing, LO technologies, as well as digital capabilities. The role requires incorporation of requirements into development plans and evaluation of performance of processes and tools to verify their efficiency. In addition, you will identify and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure R&D contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are met and product quality is maintained. In this role, you will provide guidance regarding design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques, and ensure processes and procedures are compliant with regulations. This role involves interfacing with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and executive management. In addition, the role will require the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment. Budgeting and Project Management skills will be utilized to properly scope and execute assigned work and manage project efforts.

   Additional Job Responsibilities:

  The project manager will have Cost Account Management (CAM) experience to include guiding programs with interpretation and execution ofEarned Value compliance,process and procedure guidanceand training, subcontractor compliance, and resolution ofprogram executionissuesacross theNGAS suite of programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Earned Value Management, Planning, Program Control, and subcontractor surveillance. Serve as the EVM focal point between technical, cost, schedule, and program managementteams. Build partnerships with program personnel to support program execution while maintaining compliant EVM implementation in accordance with EIA-748 and corporate commandmedia. Develop and deliver Program Execution, EVM, Agile, and Best Practice training to build a shared understanding and increased capability of compliance and best practices to support programexecution. Review, analysis, and corrective action assessment on common cost / schedule management datanon-compliance issues. EstimateAtCompletion (EAC), Variance Analysis Reports (VAR), reconciliation logs,etc. Facilitate Variance Analysis Report (VAR) and Estimate at Complete (EAC) development andapproval. Provide guidance, oversight, and approval of program baseline implementation andchanges. Lead and participate in both internal and subcontractor EVMSsurveillance. Familiarity with Earned Value Management principles, practical knowledge of EIA-748 standards, experience with Customer, Internal, and Earned Value surveillanceactivities. Understanding of common scheduling tools such as MS Project. This position may be filled at a Level 3 or a Level 4 based on the qualifications outlined below.

   Basic Qualifications (Principal Technical Services Project Management) Bachelor's Degree in Science with 5 years' experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production; OR Master's Degree with 3 years' experience; 0 Years with PhD 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience in Program and/or Project Management. Experience using ERP/SAP systems. Extensive experience with Earned Value Management Experience with Microsoft Office tools (I.e., Excel with Pivot tables, V-Look ups, and Macros & PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to travel Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance to include Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. Basic Qualifications (Sr. Principal Technical Services Project Management) Bachelor's Degree in Science with 9 years' experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production; OR Master's Degree with 7 years' experience; OR PhD with 4 years of related experience 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience in Program and/or Project Management. Experience using ERP systems. Ability to travel Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance to include Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field or Advanced Degree in STEM field A current and active DoD Secret level security clearance with a periodic re-investigation OR an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years Current Special Program Access Facilities and Industrial Engineering Floor Layout Planning Experience with using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project, Visio) Experience working with IPTs, other stakeholders, and various customers such as Air Force and Navy Proposal experience, and experience in other early phases of program lifecycle Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates 3+ years of experience in Earned Value Management Experience with SAP Experience managing hardware production activity Experience in hardware/software integration of manufacturing systems Experience with production assembly/fabrication including Digital Transformation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Systems Integration, IIoT, RFID, and/or production manufacturing operations Digital Manufacturing experience Technical Writing capability Project / Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking) Strong Familiarity with Process Development & Controls Training and Learning Content Management Systems experience and knowledge preferred. Experience with common cost management tools Experience with common scheduling tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Empower and/or Open Plan (OPP) Experience leading programs in audits / reviews government agencies such as the DCMA and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) Extensive experience with Subcontractor surveillance and data management Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900

  Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $199,600

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
