We are seeking a seasoned and intellectually curious Principal Software Engineer and Security Specialist to join our forward-thinking software engineering organization. This role is pivotal to our mission of providing top-tier fraud prevention capabilities and regulatory compliance services. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing our security infrastructure, safeguarding the highly sensitive data of our customers, employees, and partners. This role requires a deep understanding of vulnerabilities in software services, as well as in processes, operations, and configurations of systems.
The Principal Software Engineer and Security Specialist will be a strategic thinker with a strong theoretical background in computer science or a related field. You will be expected to leverage your academic knowledge and practical experience to anticipate potential threats and develop proactive solutions. You will work closely with our data analysts, data scientists, and fraud operations team to develop advanced and complex services that process our vast amount of data. You will also be expected to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and advancements in cybersecurity to ensure our systems remain resilient against emerging threats.
What you'll bring
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or equivalent work experienceProven record in security with an understanding of vulnerabilities in both software services and processes.Hands-on experience and in-depth theoretical background in security.Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor a diverse team.Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - design, architecture, implementation, quality, scalability, performance, deployment, operations, decommission.Understanding and experience with AWS.Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate potential threats and develop proactive solutions.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams across different geographical locations.
How you will lead
This role requires excellent communication skills, as our team is diverse in cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and ranges from junior interns to principal engineers with varying domain expertise in security.
In this role one will serve as both a mentor and a hands-on expert, providing guidance and expertise to our team.
Our team is distributed across Mountain View CA (HQ), San Diego, NYC, and Tel Aviv, so experience working with geographically dispersed teams is essential.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our security practices, influencing the design and implementation of our systems. Your understanding of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how each phase has its own security risks will be crucial in this role.
We are an AWS house, so your understanding and experience with AWS will be highly valued.
