The Amazon Music CX Infrastructure team is responsible for a wide range of areas of the Amazon Music experience including Customer Data Platform and Services, Cross-Client Experiences, Casting and Cross-Device Playback, Customer Experience Quality, Stability, and Performance across Amazon Music’s range of devices including mobile apps, web experiences, big-screens, wearables, and connected speakers. Our team is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Technical to own and drive efforts Growth and Partnerships across this landscape. This is an opportunity to lead our strategy to redefine what a best-in-class Music Streaming experience can be and to help establish Amazon Music as the most innovative music experience in the world.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager, Technical on the Amazon Music CX Infrastructure team, you will partner with stakeholders and contributors (including BD and marketing partners, growth and identity team stakeholders, developers, technical program managers, analysts, and engineers in test) to design and align on roadmaps and goals. To do this, you will start by developing a comprehensive understanding of customer expectations and aspirations around partnerships and growth opportunities both internal and external, and their platform requirements. You will draft documents to describe plans, goals, and solutions including PR FAQs, annual and quarterly plans, feature requirements, resourcing asks, and more. You will analyze data, develop insights, and be the resident expert in understanding the growth and partnership landscape of the Amazon Music service. You will write feature requirements, review technical designs, and work across teams to craft disruptive solutions for complex problems. You will conduct experiments and analyze and report results, strategically developing proof of insights that change and steer downstream investments and strategies/deliverables. You will evangelize and report on Growth and Partnerships areas in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews and plans.
A day in the life
You join the morning scrum with the Cross-Client Experiences team, where you stay informed of progress and updates from teams executing on your roadmap, and you chime in to help with prioritization. Before lunch you make progress on a PR FAQ for an exciting new effort as part of annual planning for next year. After lunch you review promising experiment results from a recent feature launch. You share early results with the team for an early glimpse of the impact of their work. In a doc review you give feedback to help a colleague. You take the Amazon shuttle home.

Basic Qualifications
2+ years of end to end product delivery experience
8+ years of technical product or program management experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
Experience technical product management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
5+ years of product management experience working on end consumer technology products
3+ years designing and maintaining a strategic product roadmap with measurable outcomes.
2+ years designing and analyzing experiments in a consumer product space (aka a/b or multi-variate testing)
2+ years experience working on Quality, Stability, and/or Performance related programs/efforts.
2+ years of experience collaborating with partner teams to align and drive on cross-organizational goals.
Experience working on agile-enabled teams
Experience launching consumer-facing online/mobile products/service from start to finish
MBA or master’s degree in a quantitative field
Experience authoring documents / presentations to establish and maintain strategic alignment with senior stakeholders.
Experience with design and analysis of customer surveys and user studies.
Experience writing and delivering reports and presentations regarding designs, plans, progress, and impact.
Experience working with products involving both visual and voice components, personalization, search and/or machine learning based systems
Proven ability to understand complex business problems, apply strong analytical skill and create an effective strategy
Technical fluency; ability to understand and discuss architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work across functions and influence senior leaders
Excellent platform experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly software applications and customer-facing features
Nimbleness and comfort with ambiguity; ability to respond rapidly to evolving threats and opportunities
Demonstrated ability to translate strategic differentiators into innovative and detailed product requirements
Proven ability to make smart features (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
