Job Summary
NetApp is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join the product management team, who has successfully managed Kubernetes storage and data products. He/she has a track record of working in highly effective product management teams and working collaboratively with a globally distributed R&D team.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, he/she will work closely with the company Product leadership teams, Sales, TME, Procurement, Marketing and Support teams to execute a compelling product strategy.
The ideal candidate for this role has a background in building and scaling products, strong technical and business acumen, and vision to deliver products that transforms the industry. Most importantly, the ideal candidate must have a software product management background around Kubernetes, storage, and cloud native data technologies used on-premises and in the public cloud.
Job Requirements:
• Use a customer centric approach to execute product vision, direction, and business plans, including product plans/roadmaps, product evolution, and product lifecycle process.
• Specify technical requirements, develop roadmap, and provide technical direction to R&D for building NetApp's Kubernetes storage access and data management products.
• Work with customers to understand their pain points and document feature requirements that address their business needs.
• Collaborate with partners including hyper scalers to develop integration roadmaps that address pain points for mutual customers.
• Engage with solution architects and sales to understand and distill market requirements to inform roadmap features.
• Work with GTM teams to create customer facing collaterals, launch materials, and participate in other activities to evangelize product and solution.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to determine success of new feature launches.
• Gather and analyze customer data to identify adoption friction, trends, and other customer pain points to inform roadmap decisions.
• Keep track of competition and help develop SWOT analyses and battle cards for field usage.
• Provide technical training and collateral in collaboration with technical marketing engineering (TME) including presentations and/or Technical FAQs.
• Help resolve technical issues reported by customers on the new/deployed product.
Job Requirements
Preferred skills and experience:
• 7+ years' experience in outbound product management.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes persistence concepts, storage access fundamentals, and the Container Storage Interface (CSI) specification is mandatory.
• Hands-on technical product management experience is necessary to be successful in this role.
• Prior experience building a software-defined storage product and/or productizing open-source storage/data technologies is a plus.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes platforms like Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, or Google Cloud GKE is desirable.
• Good understanding of native public cloud storage services like Amazon EBS, Amazon S3, Google Persistent Disk, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Disks, Azure Blob, Azure NetApp Files, etc. is desirable.
• Prior experience managing a fully managed cloud services or a SaaS is a plus.
• Experience with product placement on hyper scaler marketplaces is desirable.
• BA/BS required, in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
Travel requirements:
15% to 25% of travel will be required.

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is 189,990 - 267,080. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's).
