  Collins Aerospace is seeking a talented & motivated individual to join the Aircraft Architectures & Systems engineering team in defining, designing, and implementing reusable Software (SW) Core Assets. This growing engineer team is part of the newly created Avionics Advanced Systems & Architectures (ASA) organization.What YOU will do:

  You will benchmark software best practices across Collins and Industry to assess for applicability and/or adaptability in Avionics SW Core Architectures.You will investigate and provide recommendations for reusable SW Core Assets as part of the Avionics Reference Architectures.You will design, develop, and deliver high-quality SW deliverables, potentially including microservices, applications, modules, and common libraries.You will guide Channel and Product Line teams in the integration of SW Core Assets, deliberately and regularly collecting feedback for continuous process improvement.You will act as a thought partner with the Lead SW Core Architect in creating and maintaining reuse strategies across ASA SW assets.What YOU will learn:

  You will gain exposure to stakeholders across all the Avionics Channels & Product Lines, including executive leadership.You will gain specialized and general SW Architecture design and development skills to activate the Avionics Product Line vision to be the leading provider of Open Systems & high-integrity aviation solutions.You will gain experience in introducing and measuring the successful impact of new SW Core Assets and novel reuse strategies.Education & Experience:

  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

  This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey.
