Job Overview:
The Aveva Engineering Administrator is responsible for set-up, configuration, and support of Aveva’s Engineering application for project execution.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Aid with requirements gathering to understand application configuration and project information requirements
Set-up and configure Aveva Engineering based on project requirements, including
Configure project data setup
Develop/maintain project data model with the required class, class association, attributes and decorations based on the project requirements
Configure status definitions
Configure database views and database view sets for the required grids & datasheets templates as per project requirements
Configure Intelligent lists and reports as per project requirements
Configure datasheets templates and grids as per project requirements
Configure Revision and Status Control and assign them as per project requirements
Set up TMR services based on project requirements
Create PML macros/functions, buttons as per the project requirement
Create PBS as per project requirements
Configure naming rules / convention based on project requirements
Configure integration and data exchange with other engineering design applications used during project execution
Assist in populating / importing data into AVEVA Engineering
Produce documentation to confirm application setup and configuration meets project scope and information requirements.
Maintain the Aveva Engineering database for projects including backups, reports, imports, data integrity, etc. including the customization of reports as per project requirements
Monitor and trouble-shoot and solve application and database problems to ensure project integrity and user support.
Provide training and training documentation to support and project execution
Develop training documentation (e.g., work instructions / user guidelines) for users
Has the ability to effectively conduct training sessions to new users
Assist in developing department and project specific workflows and standards
Create audit requirements and periodically check for design quality and conformance with project information requirements
Assist in developing automation enhancements where appropriate
Work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Demonstrated project experience in setting up, configuring, administering, and supporting Aveva Engineering
Certification in Aveva Administration
Strong knowledge of PML Programming and DABACON
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Experience with Aveva Engineering v15.4 or later
Minimum 4 years’ experience in Engineering software Administration of which 2 years should be in the use of Aveva Engineering
Experience with Administration & Supporting of AVEVA Engineering in Cloud / in Data Centre using Citrix
Experience with Administration & Supporting of Electrical and Instrumentation Module in AVEVA Engineering considered an asset
Experience with Administration & Supporting of Global/Workshare projects using AVEVA Global Daemon
Other AVEVA Application experience (e.g., AVEVA Global, AVEVA Engineering, E3D, AVEVA ISM (Information Standards Manager), Asset Information Manager (AIM), et al considered an asset.
SmartPlant Foundation exposure / experience considered an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong MS-Office skills
