As an engineering technician for Milwaukee, you will be located at our testing facility in Menomonee Falls, WI. You will work in a fast-paced environment testing new products as a member of a cross-functional team to help deliver those products to hands of professionals and build the world around us. In this role you will support the advanced test laboratory by performing sound and vibration tests for investigative analyses and follow industry standards to meet quality and regulatory requirements for a vast array of new products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of power tools in trade-representative conditions: Outdoor Power Equipment, Plumbing and Electrical, Construction and Hand tools.
Perform test setups and execute highly detailed power tool tests
Perform product testing, while adhering to specific work instructions and test request procedures with a focus on accurate test measurements
Prepare test reports, utilizing Microsoft Office software
Maintain test equipment and observe equipment calibration dates
Assist with simple fixture design, specifically for vibration and HALT testing
Work with minimal supervision to complete daily tasks, tests, and reporting of results
Exercise responsibility for working through multiple assignments daily independently: thorough, timely, and accurate.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Eagerness to learn, attention to detail and willingness to be coached is a must.
Familiar with use of power tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
Basic understanding of measurement sensors, Data acquisition, electronics and electric motors.
Experience troubleshooting test setups and data acquisition equipment
2-yr Technology-based Associate Degree, or comparable experience in the field of product testing.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for reporting, and Excel for data collection and plotting, other more advanced post-processing experience is valuable.
