TITLE: Principal Engineer II
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO
JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical expertise on a team that engineers, develops, integrates, tests, and monitors various software systems. Deliver high-quality video services. Support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Design, implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot system video services. Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and engage in documentation as necessary. Review work plans and designs for the purpose of advising on improvements. Architect, build, and maintain cost-effective, scalable cloud environments. Develop, enhance, maintain, and establish processes and procedures of service design to assure appropriate and robust service design. Design, develop, and implement application infrastructure to provide highly complex, reliable, and scalable applications. Translate business objectives into cloud-based solutions. Migrate legacy systems into the cloud to assure higher degrees of organizational efficiency. Maintain awareness over best practices in cloud computing for the purpose of making improvements to the cloud infrastructure of the organization. Provide hardware and software recommendations. Design and tune REST-based JAVA applications that work efficiently on cloud platforms, such as CloudFoundry and AWS. Develop end-to-end monitoring frameworks using Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Grafana, InfluxDB, and Telegraf. Collaborate with the business to translate needs into functional requirements and generate preliminary solutions. Conduct component-level capacity analysis, design review, and resiliency engineering. Determine application design for optimal performance. Carry-out performance assessments of different applications, including tasks such as virtualization of downstream applications. Integrate performance engineering into CICD pipelines. Conduct security and static code analysis, code profiling, and configuration tuning. Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of the business' suite of software solutions. Diagnose and solve problems occurring with highly available production systems. Build solutions and automation to prevent future system issues.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 6 years of experience developing software using JAVA, C++, Python, Oracle, MySQL, Mongo DB, and Cassandra; managing cable and video technologies utilizing QAM, DOCSIS, IP, and middleware applications for Video platforms; providing engineering and DevOps solutions for CI/CD implementation, application monitoring, and measuring customer experience and KPIs; and performing resiliency, scalability, and reliability engineering. 3 years of experience architecting Cloud-Native and Amazon Web Services (AWS) applications to build scalable infrastructure. Hybrid/remote work arrangement available.
Salary depends on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $152,069/year.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $152,069.00 to $220,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
