TITLE: Principal EngineerLOCATION: Austin, Texas
JOB SUMMARY: Support the maintenance and enhancement of the company's telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software, and electrical systems. Provide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel, and ensure all technical integration and standards are met. Represent the Engineering department and work closely with Architects and other Principal Engineers. Design, implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas. Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Test and review system designs. Test and validate all new hardware and connections for proper configuration and performance. Mentor and guide the work of technical staff. Review designs and Method of Procedures and advise on improvements. Research and identify technology opportunities and their application to the business. Document project requirements including scope, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience supporting LAN and WAN technologies; utilizing TCP/IP and OSI technologies; and using transport and core network technologies.
