  SUMMARY: Employee Benefits (EB) Principals provide high-quality service to our clients and producers, and oversee the work of more junior colleagues while also supporting their growth and development. They ensure client satisfaction by balancing the quality of service and speed of response. In this role, the Principal will support the soliciting of new business, administration of current business, including but not limited to renewals, coordination of billing/payment, processing applications, and other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  This role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following job duties:

  Exercise independent judgment and discretion regarding the tracking and management of policy renewals Research and respond to client, insurance carrier, and producer questions, including billing inquiries and other service issues Prepare materials for client meetings with limited direction and oversight as necessary Assist with the preparation of Requests For Proposal (RFPs) to market client insurance policies Collaborate with various internal SME teams on client materials (for example, oversee the preparation of communication materials by EPIC’s Communications & Engagement team) Maintain accurate policy information and other relationship documentation in agency management systems Manage client invoicing and accounts receivable QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in the employee benefits brokerage/consulting industry Strong computer skills including MS office suite, Excel and PowerPoint Detail-oriented Excellent organization and time management skills KEY COMPETENCIES: Customer Service Focus: Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction through proactively addressing customer needs and concerns. Ensures the highest value of service is always provided and consistently delivers on commitments to the customer. Active Listening: Enhances mutual understanding in communication with others by expressing genuine interest in the content and meaning of others’ messages. Asks clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Initiating Action: Self-starter and frequently takes a lead role in improving or enhancing a product or service to benefit the client and EPIC. Will often demonstrate a sincere positive attitude toward getting things done and will seek out additional responsibilities that may go beyond the scope of their formal job description. Information Seeking: Driven by an underlying curiosity and desire to know more about people, things or issues. This involves going beyond routine questions and includes digging or pressing for exact information; resolving discrepancies by asking a series of questions or conducting less-focused environmental scanning for opportunities or miscellaneous information that may be used in the future. Quality Extended Task Focus: Able to perform the same work function with excellence and high standards of quality for a significant amount of time while remaining focused and without becoming disengaged. Composure and Resilience: Able to deal effectively with pressure, maintains focus and intensity and remains optimistic and persistent even under adversity. Demonstrates the ability and propensity to recover quickly and maintain self-control following setbacks, rejections and conflict. Time Management: Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple responsibilities by being organized and keeping on top of important time-sensitive tasks.  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: College degree in insurance or related field preferred Insurance license preferred, or candidate will be required to obtain one within six months of date of hire The national average salary for this role is $120,000 to $130,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
