Job Description:
Responsible for the development and execution of hedging strategies to manage interest rate risk. This position reports to the Director, Investments, and partners with the Balance Sheet Management Group and Treasury Middle Office to ensure seamless execution of derivatives transactions.
Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
Responsibilities
Execute hedging strategies to achieve the desired balance sheet positioning and risk posture. Discover utilizes a combination of cash, treasuries, mortgage backed securities, and interest rate swaps to fulfill this mandate
Apply financial markets experience, including appropriate market etiquette, to manage banking partners and obtain best trade execution
Serve as subject matter expert in the area of derivatives to assist Treasury in identifying implications of financial market and regulatory developments on company’s risk exposures
Assist in the formulation, development, and communication of hedging and investment strategies to meet the broader ALM objectives
Provide analytic support for a wide range of topics including risk positioning, hedge and investment alternatives, and assessment of economic and financial market conditions
Assist in the execution of share repurchases to support the objectives of the Company’s capital distribution program
Promote efficiency, risk mitigation, and an effective control environment by proactively partnering with internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
6+ years of experience in Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Analyst, or related field
Preferred Qualifications

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
