The Red Hat Technology Services team is looking for a Principal Telco Consultant who is passionate about open source to join our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Telco Technology Services team. In this role, you will guide the adoption of Red Hat’s solutions in our key telco service provider customers, network equipment providers (NEPs), and key system integrator (SI) partners. Through a series of in-person and remote interactions, you’ll win the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development, and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of our solutions. You’ll need to have a thorough working knowledge of and direct experience with cloud infrastructures to support applications providing virtual network functions (VNF) to the telco industry. As a Principal Telco Consultant, you will also play an important role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat's Product Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Sales teams to meet the needs of our customers and their requirements.

What you will do
Routinely assess and implement Red Hat's core offerings
Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing the technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs
Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of complex open source solutions
Adapt to changing customer requirements
Keep knowledge updated through personal development and training
What you will bring
Strong background in consultative customer engagements with either a major systems integrator, a network equipment provider, or a telco services provider.
Advanced hands-on technical experience with container and virtualisation technologies, e.g. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Ansible automation, software-defined storage, etc.
Understanding of advanced networking concepts (OSI layer 4-7 services, VLANs, tunneling, overlay networking, topology discovery, path computation)
Specific knowledge in network function virtualisation (NFV), i.e. benefits, technologies, key vendors, use cases
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to a diverse audience of stakeholders
Fluent communication skills in English
Willingness to travel weekly to client locations throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa
