As the Principal Architect for Digital Health Technology Foundational Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture strategy, technology incubation, and governance of the architecture and design chapters within our organization. This position requires a deep understanding of Digital Health informatics, along with hands-on experience working with industry standards such as HL7, DICOM, PACS, FHIR, and modern Cloud technologies. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a technical leader, and a hands-on practitioner capable of driving innovation and ensuring the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies into our digital health platform. You will be a pivotal leader responsible for evangelizing a platforming mindset and overseeing the entire platform lifecycle. This role requires a mature full-stack technologist with expertise in IoT, Clinical Connectivity, Healthcare Interoperability, and proficiency in engineering tools, SDLC tools, engineering productivity, DevOps, and Cloud Operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the technological direction, ensuring scalability, and optimizing engineering processes for a comprehensive digital health platform in the ophthalmology and vision care space. Responsibilities:Develop and communicate a comprehensive architecture strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and sustainable architecture solutions. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the digital health platform's architecture.Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the entire platform lifecycle, from conceptualization to retirement, ensuring scalability, reliability, and sustainability. Continuously assess and evolve the platform architecture to meet changing business needs and technological advancements.Lead technology incubation initiatives, exploring and prototyping innovative solutions that can be integrated into the digital health platform. Work closely with R&D & IT teams to evaluate emerging technologies and assess their feasibility for implementation.Establish and enforce architecture governance processes to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to best practices across projects.Collaborate with project teams to review and provide guidance on architecture and design decisions.Define and maintain architectural standards, frameworks, and guidelines.Leverage strong digital health informatics skills to design and implement interoperable solutions.Work with healthcare standards such as HL7, DICOM, PACS, and FHIR to ensure seamless data exchange and integration within the digital health ecosystem.Collaborate with data scientists and informaticians to optimize the utilization of health data for analytics andDesign, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions to meet scalability, security, and performance requirements.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience as a Principal Architect in the digital health or healthcare technology domain.In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with HL7, DICOM, PACS, FHIR, and other relevant healthcare standards.Strong background in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and proficiency in designing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Demonstrated success in driving architecture initiatives and fostering innovation.Alcon is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify.
