Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD o recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Activity, TMDE Support Region East. Responsibilities Implement technical procedures required by test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) requirements. Calibrate TMDE to define the accuracy and uncertainties of the equipment. Apply electronic principles to collect data for TMDE. Prepare test and certification reports containing values, corrections, and/or uncertainties for calibrated instruments. Assist users in instrument application and calibration requirements for TMDE. Develop TMDE certification documents in support of the mission. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common duties of repairing test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), interpreting schematics, and applying electronic theories in collecting measurement data. Assisting in the use of instrument application and calibration requirements for equipment. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL DEMANDS. The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS. The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
