Amazon is looking for a PR Specialist to join our Devices and Services PR team, focusing on issues management and protecting customer trust in Amazon. The team is seeking a high-judgement, seasoned public relations professional who will own the development of strategic communications for a diverse and challenging range of customer trust topics including - but not limited to - privacy, safety, artificial intelligence, and security.
In this role, you will work effectively in a matrixed global organization, quickly building effective cross-functional working relationships. You will have experience managing media on high-stakes matters, be an excellent writer, have a proven background managing business-critical issues, and exercise good judgment while acting with bias for action. As part of the role, you will work with key business leaders to provide counsel on business and policy decisions, manage complicated reactive issues and news cycles, as well as develop and execute communications strategies to build customer trust.

Key job responsibilities
Define and execute business-critical communications programs
Work cross-functionally to plan and execute cross-channel communications plans
Regularly interact with business to mitigate risks around sensitive launches and product offerings
Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected reputation issues with high judgment and professionalism
Develop and strengthen relationships with key journalists in technology and business press

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
Depth of experience in issues management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
