Caniff Electric SupplyPower SpecialistThe Power Specialist supports the internal and external sales teams with product research, customer quotes, project bids and interaction with manufacturers to provide Power solutions for Caniff customers. Under the direction of the Power Systems Category Manager, this apprentice role invests significant time and energy to expand their knowledge of industrial and commercial power systems, design specifications, quote/bid processes, installation practices and project management. This is accomplished through a hands-on approach and close interaction with manufacturer resources committed to selling power solutions.Responsibilities include:Assist sales team efforts to promote growth in the Power division for customers.Full compliance with training curriculum to include internal and external (travel required) product training programs.Identify application specifics and customer design preferences for each project through discovery, Caniff sales resources and factory sales reps.Product research and qualification.Prepare quotes and bid proposals for the customersOversee and monitor project activities and deliverables for timely completion.Project follow-up and post-sales support.Identify problem areas or concerns and resolve these issues as required,Gain an extensive knowledge of the power distribution industry.Research, gather and distribute relevant product documentation for quotes, proposals, submittals.Strong customer service agent, advocating on behalf of the customer regarding project schedules, budgets and frequent, accurate communication.Interface with customers on technical and contractual details during the proposal stage.Seek to learn the purpose and function of all relevant electrical product lines within GE/ABB.Follow-up with customers on quotes and bid proposals.Administrative support to the Power Department.Qualifications/Requirements include:Bachelor's Degree; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or relevant Electrical Distribution Experience.Mechanical ability.Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Demonstrated knowledge of electrical industry and critical power distribution products.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Experience working with industrial distributors, electrical contractors or in the electrical industry preferred.Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs.PC proficiency; ability with Microsoft applications.
