The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to investigate the mitochondrial targets of cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury. Experiments involve wild-type and genetically modified mice using in vitro and ex-vivo Langendorff models. Proficiency in animal husbandry, tissue collection, mitochondrial isolation, enzyme activity assays, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, light and fluorescence microscopy are required. Additional duties may be assigned as required by the PI.
Qualified applicants must be a recent recipient of a PhD or MD awarded within the past three years. The university offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. This position falls under a collective bargaining agreement.
