Floyd College of Medicine and Department of Translational Medicine & Physiology at Washington State University (WSU) are accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellow to perform research related to circadian clock, cancer, and aging using cellular and animal models. The ideal candidates should be able to perform high-quality, cutting-edge, and independent research. Candidates are expected to lead his/her projects and be adept at working closely with the principal investigator. Current projects in Yool Lee lab include: (1) Understanding the biological mechanisms of circadian physiology and behaviors; (2) Investigating the molecular and cellular impact of circadian disruptions on tumor heterogeneity, tumor microenvironment, and metastatic progression. (3) Translational applications of circadian physiology for the treatment of cancer and aging-related pathologies using nutritional, metabolic, pharmacological interventions. Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity to be a part of The Steve Gleason Institute for Neuroscience.The primary duties of this position will be to define research problems, approaches or hypothesis, and methodology, design specific phases of research projects, carry out complex analyses (qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods), analyze results, develop conclusions and hypotheses, and/or present research findings in publishable form. Specific duties and responsibilities include:• Assisting in the coordination of ongoing research projects.• Publishing key results in peer-reviewed journals.• Assisting the PI, as well as other collaborating investigators, with scientific development, data analyses, and grant writing, as needed.• Applying for extramural research funding. Taking appropriate steps towards becoming an independent investigator/faculty member.• Participating in didactic training opportunities offered at WSU.• May perform other duties as required.*The position will be an initial one-year (1 year) appointment with opportunity for renewal contingent upon performance, mutual acceptance and available funding.Duties and Responsibilities:60% Research• Assist in the coordination of ongoing research projects.• Prepare articles for publication.• Assist in developing posters and presentations for disseminating study findings.• Assist in the preparation of progress reports.• Assist the PI, as well as other collaborating investigators, with scientific development, data analyses, and grant writing.20% Data Management and Reporting• Gather and input study data into database systems. Ensure accuracy in the recording of all data and work with research sites to ensure data integrity.• Review and assess study data to ensure adherence to study protocol. Collaborate with PI if protocols are not being met.• Ensure data security and confidentiality.15% Professional Development• Participate in didactic training opportunities at WSU.• Apply for extramural research funding.• Take steps to become an independent investigator/faculty member.5% Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:An earned terminal degree in an appropriate field and relevant experience.Additional Requirements• Experience authoring professional presentations or peer-reviewed publications.• Experience preparing technical reports and manuscripts.• Proactive problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and ability to take appropriate aut
