Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
Job Description

The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians, and other health care workers.
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, interested in statistical cancer genomics, for a position as a postdoctoral fellow. The position will take advantage of the InterMEL study, an international consortium effort that has generated a large primary melanoma tissue resource and multi-modal tumor-profiling (DNA sequencing, DNA methylation, RNA-seq, multiplexed tissue imaging, and spatial transcriptomics). An example of a potential project relates to identifying driver mutations within and across oncogenic pathways, and their association with epigenomic, transcriptomic output, and tumor microenvironment characteristics. The candidate will develop statistical methodologies using the InterMEL data resource and work with a highly interdisciplinary group of investigators toward understanding cancer biology and disease progression. The position will be co-mentored by Drs. Ronglai Shen and Colin Begg.
The ideal candidate should have:
PhD degree in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related fieldExperience in NGS sequencing data analysis including whole-exomes and whole-genomes preferred but not requiredSolid methodological training in statistics, be comfortable working with large data sets, proficient in at least one of the statistical programming languages R/Matlab/Python and have experience working on Unix/Linux systems and basic shell scripting
