　　Job Description

　　The intern will join a team of researchers in NREL’s Strategic Energy Analysis Center who perform resource, market, and impact assessments of biomass, waste, and bioenergy technologies.

　　The intern will support multiple projects with feedstock (e.g., biomass, waste) and bioenergy-related data and analysis needs. Relevant projects include

　　Biomass and/or waste resource assessments to determine potential bioenergy output in different regions, both national and international,

　　Survey of proposed and existing alternative fuel production facilities in specific regions to assess what fuels may be available in different timelines,

　　Ad-hoc requests on bioenergy and waste-to-energy topics

　　The intern will support this work by conducting literature reviews, gathering data, analysis, interpretation, report writing, preparing data visualization materials and presentations.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Candidates who have earned a degree may work for a period not to exceed 12 months. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

　　Additional Required Qualifications

　　Applicants must have demonstrated experience with resource, market, policy, infrastructure, or environmental analyses, ideally related to biomass, waste, and/or bioenergy. Strong research skills, self-motivation, and a high level of responsibility to complete tasks in a timely manner. Excellent oral and written communication as well as recordkeeping is essential.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Preference may be given to candidates with a strong publication or data analysis record compared to peers at similar levels of education and career experience. Bioenergy experience is a plus but not required for this position.

　　Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

　　Job Profile: Graduate II / Annual Salary Range: $42,700 - $68,300

　　NREL takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.
