• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design experience and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience using one or more of the following design tools: CADENCE, SPICE, MATLAB, Verilog/VHDL.
Preferred Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience in transistor level design of analog or mixed-signal integrated circuits with a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with internship or publication.• 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Power Electronics, Control Theory, Precision Oscillators, High Accuracy Data Converters and Analog Front Ends, High Bandwidth Linear Amplifiers, Very Low Power References, Electro-Migration and Transistor Reliability, BehavioralModeling, or UVI Techniques
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Uses tools/applications (i.e., Cadence ADE, MATLAB etc.) to execute the architecture and design of an individual block according to design specifications and requirements provided.• Executes the design and verification strategies of PMICs, for own specific assigned part of a block with supervision from technical lead.• Guides layout engineers under minimal guidance to generate the layout of circuits and conduct physical verification of the layout.• Runs functionality checks on a single block to ensure it meets specifications provided by team lead with minimal guidance.• Interprets the results of performance checks on a single block and reports them to team lead.• Documents basic details about materials, components, and assemblies for a PMIC or PMU and records important changes to design with minimal supervision from more experienced engineers.• Seeks essential knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and advances in the Power Management field from publicly available information; shows interest in a specific area of expertise.• Collaborates with team members to generate ideas.
Level of Responsibility: • Working under some supervision.• Providing some supervision/guidance to others.• Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. May require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.• Working within prescribed budget and resources.• Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.• Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.• Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.• May be solicited during strategic planning period.
The responsibilities of this role do not include:• Supervising direct reports.• Influence over key organizational decisions.
