Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking Plastic Technician(s) working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba site. These positions are for evening and midnight shifts.

Position Responsibilities:
Select, identify, prefit, fabricate, assemble, pick up, rework, repair, form and finish a wide variety of structural and non-structural fiberglass, graphite and other plastic parts and assemblies by the lay-up, foaming, cementing, molding, potting, casting and similar methods using processes and procedures that have been established, and/or position, align, locate, fit and fasten parts into a layup tool (e.g. layup mandrel, caulplate, etc.), and ready for bonding by bagging, sealing and attaching thermocouples.
Debag and remove completed panels from the layup tool.
Wrap finished parts in protective covering in preparation for shipping.
Work in conformance with work orders, manufacturing plans, specifications, quality requirements, and established safety and operating procedures. Documents work, in-process rework and nonconformance rework in accordance with established procedures.
Use shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.
Hand and machine finish parts to required tolerances and fit into completed assemblies and cut fabrics to size using knives, sheers, etc.
Drill, saw, file, sand, patch, build up, trim, splice, fill, and fit parts to meet production requirements.
Operate ovens impregnating, heat treat, testing and curing equipment, machines and devices.
Sand and polish molds to obtain smooth surfaces.
Apply protective materials, lacquers, and parting agents to molds, forms and dies.
Mix deliverable materials in accordance with required ratios and processes.
Assemble thermocouple devices as required.
Ensure surfaces are prepared for subsequent operations by performing all necessary surface preparation and masking, as applicable, prior to application of coatings.
Understand all related quality requirements, assess the finished product and perform the necessary in-process corrections, as applicable and as instructed in the work instructions and process specifications. Remove previously applied coatings as required for re-processing.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
High School Diploma or recognized equivalency
Must be able to successfully complete the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES). If you have already successfully completed TOWES, attach your official results
Must be able to work evening shift (starting at 15:00) and/or midnight shift (starting at 23:00)
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical, pass up to 4 weeks of training, and a full background check, including criminal record in order to obtain employment
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Completion of Aerospace Manufacturing Technician (AMT), or Aerospace Manufacturing and Maintenance Orientation Program (AMMOP), or Aerospace Maintenance Engineer (AME) and/or aerospace manufacturing experience
Formal related training and post-secondary education obtained through an accredited educational institution
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
Starting Wage: $28.68 per hour + shift premium for evening and midnight shift
