In the role of Plant Systems Engineer, you will have ownership for planning, executing, and providing technical expertise for plant automation control systems, data acquisition systems, electrical systems, and equipment. You will be leading the engineering portion of the Maintenance Department to deliver on action plans and contribute towards the strategic vision. As you strive towards meeting our continuous improvement goals and providing technical expertise, you will be a vital part to our facilities’ success.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
Support and Motivation – You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, who leads with a strong technical knowledge, support, and a “never fail” attitude. Ready to be inspired and mentored?
System Improvement and Innovation – We plan on you driving our future with confidence and an Owner ’ s Mindset. You will own the performance of the plant ’ s PLC software systems and network, electrical drawing system, and all power systems work. This could include personnel, hardware, software, plant/system wide architecture and surplus assets. One of the most important aspects will be ensuring the successful delivery and use of these technologies.
Project Support & Delivery – You won ’ t just be keeping pace; you will be setting it. You will be the lead in directing, coordinating, communicating, and interpreting policy for employees to ensure that electrical projects are thoroughly planned, scheduled, scoped, and estimated. You will work with the Processing and Packing departments, as well as developing a relationship with Global Engineering to provide and capture the scope of each project.
Capability Development – We grow together every day. You will be coaching, developing, and leading the engineering & maintenance support organization and daily operation leadership. You will be managing training for site resources and ensuring expertise around legal and Kellanova requirements. Plan on helping influence the budgeting process.
Your Recipe for Success
High School Diploma with 5 years working experience in a related technical field
Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley RS controls and software suite. Including extensive PLC programming, VFD configuration and setup, servo drive and motion control, automation control networks, data acquisition networks, SQL server and database and Factory Talk.
Industrial operations networks, switch configuration, controls and data communications, VLan setup and configuration, SCADA systems.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to manage internal and external relationships.
Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
Strong influencing skills to work across all levels of the organizations.
