Summary
Work under limited direct supervision on assignments that require a comprehensive knowledge of the discipline. May be responsible for a business activity or lead small projects, assume several components of a larger project or program, or a complex portion of a large project/program. A broad application of principles, theories, concepts, and techniques are used in the applicable technical or business discipline and working knowledge of interrelated fields. Develop resolutions to diverse and complex problems often requiring creativity. Exercise judgment using generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions. Will represent the organization on projects and interface with internal and external customers. Impact of errors may have implications requiring significant expenditure of resources to correct and/or achieve project goals. Build internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers, and internal service.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Facilitate proper implementation of customer Engineering Change Orders by direct involvement with customer Engineering team and communication to internal Change Control Board. These changes typically include product improvements, new product development, and EOL/E&O management.
Ensure appropriate changes are moved through the process in a systematic approach with minimized cost exposure, minimized excess materials, and risk to customer shipment.
Provide input on change management plan, processes, and tools.
Drive continuous improvement activities related to change management.
Participate in and may lead Change Control Board meetings to facilitate cross functional communication and proper implementation of change.
Communicate regularly with internal and external customer representatives to discuss change implementation strategy and status.
Help facilitate Copy Exactly (CE!).
Responsible for developing, tracking and reporting metrics related to the change management process.
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Must have prior experience in change management implementation
Experience and familiarity with MRP systems and concepts
Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, and working under tight deadlines while collaborating as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Technically competent in order to understand proposed engineering changes and their impact to cost, supply and manufacturing.
Ability to deeply engage directly with customers (internally & externally) to drive process improvements based on lessons learned.
Ability to work overtime to complete workload, if required.
Ability to occasionally shift the work schedule in order to facilitate communication with overseas sites.
